To solve a scrambled cube, one needs to turn the cube faces in certain order so that the same color pieces (edge, corner, and center pieces) are assembled. There are a ton of options and variations but these are a few of my favorites. Repeat this until you have all corners correctly oriented. just spin your upper face) until another misoriented corner is at LFU. IMG9415 2) Rotate the upper face 90 degrees U IMG9416 3) Rotate the bottom face 90 degrees B. Do R D R D multiple times until that corner is correctly oriented. Center Cube Swap 1) Hold the cube with the blue face front. Having two incorrectly oriented corners does not mean that the bank will be correct since you could have both corners needing to be twisted the same direction 120°. Start by rotating your entire cube until you have a misoriented corner at LFU. I f you have one corner that needs to be twisted clockwise (120°) the bank will need to be twisted counter-clockwise (120°). Move 1 rotates the piece clockwise, while the Reverse of Move 1 rotates it counterclockwise. If you have only one corner oriented incorrectly the bank piece will be also incorrectly oriented. Move 1: Rotating a middle-center piece by 90 degrees Use the following move (or its reverse) to rotate each of the middle-center pieces that needs to be rotated by 90 degrees. If you have an odd number (1, 3, etc.) you will also have the bank piece flipped incorrectly. If you have an even number of edges flipped they will be the only ones oriented incorrectly. The few algorithms shows are made to have the corners or edges that need to be oriented to be set up in those spots. I f you don't solve them in the way shown in the Old Pochmann walkthrough (orienting the Front/Left edge by solving H then R then you can solve them by just doing a simple algorithm. If you can’t find any, go down to the There is not any yellow corners on the bottom layer section. Rubik himself (since he formulated it), will flip the two center-edge pieces on the top side of the cube shown in Figure 15. The following 'Rube Move', named after Mr. Pay attention to the three colors in each corner. Step 7: Orient the four center-edge pieces. In the fourth step we want to form a yellow cross on the top of the cube. This is because there is no sequence of moves that will swap a single pair of pieces or rotate a single corner or edge cube. Search in the bottom layer for a corner with yellow on it. We solve the yellow edges on the top of the Rubik's Cube in two steps: First we orient them to form a yellow cross on the top (4.), then we swap the pieces to match them with the side colors (5.). Often you will have edges and corners that just need to be flipped or twisted. Hold the Rubik’s Cube in a way in which the yellow face is the top one, and the white face the bottom one.
